We can see the world together.
We have been travelling for eight years with our daughter. We think travel for children is important, so as they grow into well informed, open minded adults. They understand the world is full of different people, different cultures. I hope my Daughter learns so many different things from our travels! When we were back home, she was the only one to think about American Indians wearing hats rather then feathers. You and child have only one life, make it better.
Who says the parents have anyone at home to leave their children while travelling? - we didn't, even if you have we were constantly thinking about our child .
If it is dangerous. It is like home. You skip the worst places, you do not go alone in the night, you take a coach versus a chicken bus (mostly).
It is more relaxing. Every few days you need to slow down to let your child to calm down.
Who says 'subjecting' kids to long haul flights, foreign culture and cuisine is wrong? - Kids are much more adaptable than us. Flights are not hard for them, they have more room than any adult on the flight, play with their toys, or they sleep. Same for the climate and food. Kids have the advantage of being able to strip right down if they want to.
Disease: you take anti mosquitoes repellent, anti malaria stuff your personal first aid kit is bigger. Or you choose safe areas.
Obviously your parents never travelled with you. Our case? We grew in communist Poland on the wrong side of the Iron Curtain. The world was closed for us and them . Most of them did not speak languages had no money and passports.
Believe us. Seeing the world through the eyes of a child is a gift.
